We live in an ever-changing world where the role of the school has certainly become multi-faceted. Whilst teaching and learning remains our core business, the scope of learning has changed and the focus on holistic education has become fundamental to a ‘good education’. The holistic formation of students is one which nurtures ‘the head, the heart and the hands’ (Maher & Hanley, 2013) and at Loreto Normanhurst this is achieved through our FACE curriculum. Each aspect of FACE in turn seeks to foster our mission, where we encourage each student to fulfil her personal potential, whilst celebrating a joyous Christian faith centred on justice. We believe that nurturing the person spiritually. intellectually, socially and emotionally is fundamental to the growth of independent, articulate and compassionate young women.

Loreto Normanhurst has community at its heart. When any member of the Loreto Normanhurst community, past or present, is asked about what makes our school the special place that it is, the answer is always the same. It is the strength and spirit of our community. The Loreto Normanhurst community, with its richness of diversity, and the relationships within it, has been, and remains, the cornerstone of our wonderful school.

Primary School News

There was much excitement in the Primary School this morning, as our Year 5 students prepared to meet the newest members of the Primary School, Year 5 and Year 6 for 2020.

We began the day in the Primary School, where the girls and their families met the Primary teachers and the Leadership Team. The girls, with their Orientation buddies, played some getting to know you games and explored the school on a treasure hunt. Our current Year 5 girls showed such pride as they walked the girls around the school and talked about what they had learnt this year. We had a lovely morning tea with our new families, where connections and new friendships began to take shape. We have just said goodbye to the girls and can’t wait until we see them again.

As we draw closer to that time of light and blessing in our year you are invited to join us in our school chapel for reflection through a beautiful evening of music and readings.
