Last Friday, we had the highly anticipated Principal’s Spelling Bee. There was great excitement and a few nerves as the 30 finalists took to their seats. The girls performed with confidence as the audience cheered them on. The final three spellers: Trinity Hanna, Carina Wen and Evie Byrne-Fister fought it out for the final places.

During our time in virtual learning, I began to listen to the Michelle Obama Podcast. After listening to the first episode I very quickly sent the link out to the staff and students in Mulhall House, as her words seemed to echo the exact ideas that we discuss at the start of every school year. One of the standout statements that Michelle Obama made in this first episode emerged from a reflection on her own and her husband’s schooling experiences.

There is something different in the air in Term 4. Whether it’s the turning of the seasons signified by the halcyon sunshine, the scent of jasmine, or the simple confusion upon the sudden onset of a sun shower or cool wind that whips through the corridor, there is no denying that the transition to Term 4 brings about reminiscence of the year and dreaming of the summer holidays.
