ROWING

The 2018/19 Rowing Season officially got underway this week with Ms Ugonotti declaring the season open at the Annual Opening Season Dinner. It was a wonderful night, capped off with the announcement of our new Captain and Vice Captain of Boats – congratulations to Ainsley Woods for being selected as Captain and to Lucy Illek for being selected Vice Captain. I have full confidence in these girls to set a tremendous standard of performance and attitude in the sheds for the entire program – congratulations girls!

LORETO NORMANHURST REGATTA

The first regatta of the season is also upon us, and it’s ours! Once again, we host the traditional opening regatta of the season, which will be held at the Sydney International Regatta Centre tomorrow Saturday 3 November. It is a wonderful day, full of racing and festivities, so please feel free to come along and see what all the fuss is about!

EQUESTRIAN

Congratulations to Felicity Orman, who competed recently at the Tamworth Interschools Horse Extravaganza. In a field of 80 competitors, Felicity had some awesome results, with the highlight being a 2nd placing in the Western Pole Bend event. Way to go Felicity!

GYMNASTICS

Our Primary squad was on show last week as they leapt, tumbled and stuck the landing at the 2018 IPSHA Gymnastics Carnival out at the Sydney Gymnastics and Aquatic Centre. We had 11 girls competing and they all gave excellent performances, showcasing the skills they’ve developed over the year.

Today, it’s the Secondary squad’s turn  as they take part in the IGSSA Carnival. At the time of going to press, the results aren’t known, however we have our fingers and toes crossed for some great performances across the mat!

CRICKET

On Monday we were visited by Cricket NSW and a number of visiting teams as we played host to the Year 7 & 8 T20 Cricket Blast Gala Day. Almost 120 Loreto girls were involved with some stellar cricket on display.

WOMEN’S SPORT

2023 may feel like a long time away, however good things come to those who bid! As you may be aware, Australia has launched a bid to host the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup – this is an awesome opportunity to watch some of the best footballers in the world live and you can help! To sign up to the petition, click here  and submit your details to #GetOnside

CORRECT SPORT UNIFORM

Students who are not dressed in the correct uniform for competition will not be allowed to play. In the case that a Loreto Sport Staff member is not present, your team coach will have the authority to remove a student from play and/or not allow a student to start play. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter. It is our expectation that you will be appropriately dressed and in uniform while representing Loreto Normanhurst. Please see your sport specific booklets for full details on what uniform is required for your sport.
