SATURDAY SPORT & WET WEATHER

Good luck to all girls competing in IGSSA Water Polo, IGSSA Touch Football, Hornsby Tennis, IPSHA Basketball, IPSHA Tennis and  IPSHA Cricket matches this weekend.

With the inclement weather persisting in Sydney, students need to be prepared for wet weather cancellations. Loreto competes at venues located all over Sydney so please remember to check relevant weather sites for your sport before leaving home.  For more information please refer to your sport specific booklet.

NSW ALL SCHOOLS ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS

Congratulations to Elizabeth Chippendale (Year 12) who competed at the NSW All Schools Athletics Championships and won gold medals in the 18-19 years 200m and 400m. This was the last sporting event for Elizabeth as a Loreto Normanhurst athlete… way to go out with a bang! We wish you all the best for your future sporting endeavours.

IPSHA GYMNASTICS

Congratulations to the following Year 5 students who represented Loreto Normanhurst at the IPSHA Gymnastics Carnival on Thursday 25 October. The girls had been working extremely hard on their routines in the build up to the competition and they were all flawless on the day!

TOUCH FOOTBALL

IGSSA Touch Football at Loreto Normanhurst is bigger than ever in 2018 with 32 teams, 305 students and 46 coaches – which makes for a very exciting season! It was a beautiful day for the first round of IGSSA Touch Football and despite recent weather, the Normo fields were in immaculate condition. While results in Round 1 were quite mixed for our girls, there are plenty of positives to look at for Round 2.

WATER POLO

IGSSA Water Polo started on the weekend with six Loreto teams competing this year. Strong games were played by all teams in Round 1. Special mention goes to LON5 and LON6 who had convincing wins over Tara Anglican School for Girls and St Catherine’s School with Cordelia Stephen, Felicity Smith and Maya Yogesvaran all having stand out games. Well done girls! Keep up the hard work.

CORRECT SPORT UNIFORM

Students who are not dressed in the correct uniform for competition will not be allowed to play. In the case that a Loreto Sport Staff member is not present, your team coach will have the authority to remove a student from play and/or not allow a student to start play. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter. It is our expectation that you will be appropriately dressed and in uniform while representing Loreto Normanhurst. Please see your sport specific booklets for full details on what uniform is required for your sport.
