McGrath Foundation Pink Socks Day

This weekend, girls playing IGSSA Hockey, IGSSA Netball, Rugby 7’s and IPSHA Touch Football will be competing in pink socks as part of the awesome work done by the McGrath Foundation. The McGrath Foundation place specialist Breast Care Nurses wherever they’re needed across Australia. McGrath Breast Care Nurses help individuals (and their families) experiencing breast cancer by providing physical, psychological and emotional support. From the time of diagnosis, and throughout treatment, this support is available for free.

Hills Netball

It’s finals time down at the Pennant Hills Park courts – good luck to all the Hills Netball teams who have qualified for the finals series and we look forward to following your progress through to (hopefully!) the grand final weekend!

athletics

On Wednesday, 14 of our Primary School athletes were out at Olympic Park to represent at the IPSHA Athletics Carnival. All the girls did exceptionally well, with special mention going to Emily Paterson (Year 5), Sofia Storgato (Year 5) and Lucia Van Der Heiden (Year 6), who have all been selected in the IPSHA Representative Team to compete at CIS later this term. Congratulations, girls!

snowsports

Big congratulations to Dominique Rossell (Year 11), who turned in a great performance at the NSW State Interschools Snowsports Championships in the Division 1 Snowboard GS event – her 9th place finish has earned her an invitation to the National Interschools Snowsports Championships and she’ll be back down in Perisher on Thursday to shred against the top schoolgirl snowboarders in Australia. We wish her all the best!

Swimming

Our resident super-fish were in action over the weekend at the NSW Short Course Swimming Championships at Homebush. There were fantastic results all across the pool, with the highlight being Abby Hartshorne (Year 10) and Abby Feurtado (Year 9) combining as part of the victorious 13-15 years 4 x 50m Freestyle Relay team and taking home a gold medal in the process! Congratulations to all the girls who competed.

correct sport uniform

An important note regarding correct sport uniform for Saturday competition sport:

Students who are not dressed in the correct uniform for competition will not be allowed to play. In the case that a Loreto Sport Staff member is not present, your team coach will have the authority to remove a student from play and/or not allow a student to start play. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter. It is our expectation that you will be appropriately dressed and in uniform while representing Loreto Normanhurst. Please see your sport specific booklets for full details on what uniform is required for your sport.
