Secondary School Athletics Carnival

Congratulations to all students who competed at the School Athletics Carnival on Tuesday. Thank you to all participants for taking to the field and track in wonderful spirit. It is an incredibly enjoyable carnival for all involved. Due to the large number of entrants on the day, we were unable to hold the 800m event and therefore unable to finalise House Points, Age Champions, Division Champions and the Spirit Cup recipient.

The 800m event will be held at school on Monday 18 June and all students who prenominated for this event have been contacted by the Sport Department. We envisage all results will be collated and confirmed on Monday afternoon for distribution on Tuesday. A full list of award recipients will be available in next week’s newsletter.

Football – CIS Cup

Congratulations to all the Loreto Normanhurst Senior 1st Football team for their success in the CIS Cup. The team played in the semi-final match against the International Football and Tennis School and were unfortunately defeated. Well done girls on an outstanding campaign in this year’s CIS Cup.

Staff v Students Basketball Match

Staff did it again! Congratulations to all staff who were part of the winning team in the Staff vs. Student Basketball match. Coming off a win in the Staff vs. Students Football match a few weeks ago, the staff team had everything to lose heading into this highly anticipated match. The student team put up an incredible fight showcasing amazing skill and strength, however it just wasn’t enough to bypass the taller members of staff who towered over the ring. Well done to all students involved in organising the event, led by Sports Captain Tatum Bird and we look forward to Round 3!

correct sport uniform

An important note regarding correct sport uniform for Saturday competition sport.

Students who are not dressed in the correct uniform for competition will NOT be allowed to play. In the case that a Loreto Sport Staff member is not present, your team coach will have the authority to remove a student from play and/or not allow a student to start play. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter. It is our expectation that you will be appropriately dressed and in uniform while representing Loreto Normanhurst. Please see your sport specific booklets for full details on what uniform is required for your sport.

Any superstitions before playing sport: Roll the top of my playing shorts once for court sport,  or just a silent prep talk to myself if I am playing field sports.

We love seeing photos of our girls enjoying sport but, unfortunately, we can’t be everywhere at once. If you’re out and about over the weekend at your daughter’s fixtures, please send through any snaps you get to
