CIS Football Cup

Congratulations to the Senior 1st Football team who won their quarter-final match against Abbotsleigh 3-2, last week. We wish the team all the best of luck as they prepare for their semi-final match to be held in the coming weeks.

Duke of Edinburgh

Congratulations to all Bronze Duke of Edinburgh participants who successfully completed their practice canoeing journey in Berowra Valley National Park last weekend. A huge thank you to the four parent volunteers who accompanied the girls as the school’s representatives – your care and support is very much appreciated and enriches the journey experience for all the girls.

Congratulations to Olivia Fanning (Year 10) who has been selected into the NSW U18 Cricket squad. Olivia will continue her training and prepare for NSW team selection for the National Championships in Bendigo/Ballarat in January 2019. Well done Olivia! An outstanding achievement!

Congratulations to Charli Rilen (Year 9) who has been selected into the Trampoline Gymnastics State Team and will represent NSW in the upcoming 2018 Australian Gymnastics Championships.

Congratulations to Kiarra Williams-Browne (Year 12) who has been selected for the Northern Territory AFL U18’s State team and will compete in a round robin tournament in Darwin this weekend. Best of luck Kiarra!

Congratulations to Annabel Gohl (Year 8) and Faith Zalm (Year 10) who competed in the Secondary Schools Tennis Challenge last weekend and placed 4th in division 2.

Hockey – CIS Championships

Congratulations to Rachel Osborne (Year 12) and Zara Allen (Year 12) who competed in the CIS Hockey Championships this week, representing IGSSA. The IGSSA team were undefeated throughout the Championships. Further congratulations to Rachel who was selected into the NSWCIS team and will now compete at the NSW All Schools Championships.

Hockey – Field State Championships

Good luck to Tilly Keogh (Year 9) and Alana Kavanagh (Year 9) who will be competing at the 2018 Hockey NSW Under 15’s Field State Championships in Grafton this weekend. We wish these girls all the best in their preparations for the Championships.

Netball – IGSSA

Congratulations to Grace Gillies (Year 9), Charli Fidler (Year 9), and Erin O’Brien (Year 9) who were all successful in making the NSWCIS Netball team last week. To have three Loreto Normanhurst players chosen for a team of only 10 players is just outstanding! We wish these girls all the best as they now trial for the NSW All Schools Netball team today.

Netball – IPSHA

Congratulations to Abbie Maley (Year 6) and Emily Paterson (Year 5) who represented IPSHA at the NSWCIS Netball Carnival last Friday. IPSHA won the carnival, and we would like to further congratulate Abbie who was chosen to represent the NSWCIS Primary Netball team. Congratulations girls!

correct sport uniform

An important note regarding correct sport uniform for Saturday competition sport.

Students who are not dressed in the correct uniform for competition will NOT be allowed to play. In the case that a Loreto Sport Staff member is not present, your team coach will have the authority to remove a student from play and/or not allow a student to start play. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter. It is our expectation that you will be appropriately dressed and in uniform while representing Loreto Normanhurst. Please see your sport specific booklets for full details on what uniform is required for your sport.

Current sport/activity: Trampolining.

Favourite school sport/activity: Gymnastics.

Highest level of sporting achievement: International Stream – trampoline, double mini trampoline (DMT) and synchronized trampolining.

Best moment of Loreto Sport for you: Completing the Bronze Medallion meant a lot to me. I was very excited that I was able to complete it.

Favourite sporting moment as a spectator: Watching my friend, Blake Gaudry, qualify for the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Best subject at school: PASS, Commerce and Sport.

Any superstitions before playing sport: Before competing I always put chalk on my legs, so that when I am on the trampoline I have grip when flipping. I have “lucky socks” that I secretly put on underneath competition white socks.

Best tune to listen to before competing: I either listen to Shawn Mendez or the top charts. This helps to get me pumped up and ready to compete, without feeling the nerves rushing through my whole body.

We love seeing photos of our girls enjoying sport but, unfortunately, we can’t be everywhere at once. If you’re out and about over the weekend at your daughter’s fixtures, please send through any snaps you get to
