LORETO SPORTS GIRL: Olivia Fanning
Current sport/activity: I am playing softball for school, and cricket and hockey for other associations.
Favourite school sport/activity: Hockey.
Highest level of sporting achievement: U15 Reps (North Shore) hockey, NSW Academy cricket, and U11s South of England Hockey Champions.
Best moment of Loreto Sport for you: Playing hockey finals last year against Loreto Kirribilli. Unfortunately, we lost but it was a good competitive game in which girls from both teams tried their hardest.
Favourite sporting moment as a spectator: When I was injured, I came to my team’s cricket game which was a very competitive and close game. My friend was bowling off spin, and the batter played a drive very slightly off the ground/small lift. My other good friend at short cover dove to her left for a catch and managed to get a hand on it, lifting it very slightly off the ground, while the bowler dove to her left and caught it one handed, with her left hand.
Best subject at school: I love history at the moment. I find it very interesting.
Any superstitions before playing sport: Sometimes when I’m worried about a game I have two Weetbix and half a banana with some milk, either for breakfast or dinner.
Best tune to listen to before competing: Normally just whatever is on the radio, or my favourite song at the time – at the moment its Mrs. Robinson.
We love seeing photos of our girls enjoying sport, but unfortunately we can’t be everywhere at once. If you’re out and about over the weekend at your daughter’s fixtures, please send through any snaps you get to firstname.lastname@example.org.
