Saturday Sport
As we approach the halfway stage of the Term 3 IGSSA season and the final stretch of Hills Netball, it is always so pleasing to see our students out and about on Saturday mornings competing all over the city. The passion and commitment, combined with the sportsmanship and enjoyment of the game is very evident to see on all the courts and fields.
It is also great to see the girls committing to the new attendance procedures, and arriving 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start of their match. This commitment allows the coaches to prepare the team both tactically and physically for their match.
It is only with the support of the full school community that we can continue to see improvements in this area, and we thank both the students and the parents for making every effort to be at each training session on time and each game 30 minutes early.
Best of luck to all our girls for this weekend’s fixtures, particularly those travelling to Frensham for the first time this season!
Term 4 Sports Nominations
The nominations for Term 4 Sport closed last Friday, with the rowing nominations closing on Monday 14th August, after the 3rd Learn to Row session. All girls who have successfully nominated for Touch Football, Water Polo, Surf Lifesaving and Hornsby Tennis have now received a confirmation email of their nomination.
Information regarding trials for the top Senior, Junior and Year 7 teams will be released once the numbers have been finalised, so students should keep an eye on their emails for that information in the near future.
Equestrian
Over the last school break, Mia Cohen (Year 8) participated in State Equestrian up in the central Coast and achieved the following fantastic results:
1st in Show Jumping U16s
1st in Cross Country Div 1
2nd in Dressage Juniors
3rd in Barrel Racing U16s
Well done Mia!
