What a performance! Our CIS Cup squad has progressed to the quarterfinals of the CIS Cup with a resounding 8-3 victory over Bishop Druitt College in Coffs Harbour on Wednesday. Isabelle Hatton (Year 11) led the scorers with five goals whilst Eloise Hansen (Year 9) and Katie Morris (Year 11) also chipped in. This was a true team effort and a great performance by the squad. Special thanks to Mr Steve Charters (1st XI coach) and Ms Vicki Linton (football coordinator) for their tireless efforts that made this trip possible.

IGSSA Cross Country

Congratulations to all the girls who performed so admirably at the IGSSA Cross Country in Frensham this morning. It is always a frosty morning down there and today was no exception. At present, we are still waiting on official results to be released, so those selected in the IGSSA team will be acknowledged in next week’s newsletter.

IGSSA Representatives

Speaking of IGSSA teams, we’ve had a number of girls selected in IGSSA squads this week. Congratulations to Kate Reynolds (Year 12) for her selection in the IGSSA Opens Hockey squad and to Victoria Martin (Year 11) and Eloise Hansen (Year 9) for their selections into the IGSSA Football squad. I’m sure they will do us  proud at their respective CIS Championships.

All Schools Swimming and Diving

Our super-fish keep on achieving – at the time of publishing, the results aren’t in, but we have our fingers and toes crossed for swimmers Abby Hartshorne (Year 9) and Breanna Ivankovic (Year 10) ) as well as diver Tatiana Chapman (Year 10). Good luck girls!

Current sport/activity: Football

Favourite school sport/activity: I’ve been playing badminton with the school for three years now and I can’t get enough!!

Highest level of sporting achievement: Last season I was selected into the Football NSW Institute Program, and I travelled with them to Dallas Texas and competed in the ‘Dallas International Cup’. I have also represented NSW in the Futsal National titles.

Best moment of Loreto Sport for you: I can’t define just one moment, but every year the senior firsts click and bond so well, this season especially!! I’m so excited to maintain our position at top of the table.

Favourite sporting moment as a spectator: As a spectator, it would have to be watching Sydney FC get the win for the 2017 A League final.

Best subject at school:  Business Studies or History

Any superstitions before competing?:  I always wear my left sock on my right foot and vice versa.

Best tune to listen to before competing?: ‘Another one bites the dust’ by Queen or ‘It’s Tricky’ by Run-D.M.C – bangers!

We love seeing photos of our girls enjoying sport, but unfortunately we can’t be everywhere at once. If you’re out and about over the weekend at your daughter’s fixtures, please send through any snaps you get to
