Update from the  Sports Department

A lot can happen in two weeks!

As you may have seen, on Tuesday the NSW Government announced that from July 1, restrictions around community U/18 sport would be lifted, clearing a path for Term 3 sports to resume. We were very excited by this news as it means we can take another step towards returning to a ‘new normal’ with sporting opportunity for our girls.

As always during this process, everything we do will be in line with Federal and State Government guidelines, and the advice from the Australian Institute of Sport’s ‘Rebooting Sport in a COVID-19 Environment’ framework. With all these opportunities coming back, it means that we’ll have to put our plans for the Sport Recreation Program on hold.

So, if you’ve signed up for one of the four programs: court sports, oval sports, boot camp fitness or tennis for the remainder of Term 2, those sessions will unfortunately not be going ahead.

I want to thank everyone who put forward their ideas and suggestions for activities and to those girls who have signed up – it’s great to see so many of you keen to get back into activities on campus. I look forward to seeing you all back on the oval and the courts in Term 3.

I know you’re all looking forward to sport returning to normal and this is the next step in that process. Students should keep an eye on the Daily Notices and the Sport Canvas page early next week for more information about upcoming opportunities in Sport.
