Cheerleading
Our Cheerleading Squad had their final competition of the season at CheerBrandz Nationals on Saturday, where they came 2nd overall in the Schools division! The girls had their best performance of the season and were able to hit every stunt with no deductions. What a great way to end the season – well done, girls!
Gymnastics
News following on from the gymnastics carnivals last week, here are the final IPSHA Gymnastics results:
Level 1 – 4th Overall
Level 2 – 4th Overall
Level 3 – 3rd Overall
Level 4 – 1st Overall
These were the best results we have ever achieved at an IPSHA Gymnastics Carnival and the 1st place achieved by the Level 4 girls was our first ever 1st place result in any level! Awesome work by our Primary gymnasts!
Our IGSSA gymnasts also had some amazing success, finishing 2nd overall in Division 2 – only 11 points off first place!
Some of the excellent results include:
Level 3 – Zoe Henville (Year 7) placed 2nd Vault, 3rd Beam
Level 6 – Anna Besgrove (Year 8) placed 8th Vault
Level 6 – Jemma Vaughn (Year 8) placed 6th Beam, 8th Floor
Level 7 – Georgia Tapner (Year 8) placed 5th Beam, 9th Floor, 10th Bars
Great work, girls!
Rowing
It was a huge weekend out at SIRC as Loreto Normanhurst hosted the first regatta of the season on Saturday, backing up to the Loreto Kirribilli regatta on Sunday. Despite the very warm weather, the crews all put in tremendous efforts across both days and there were some great results up and down the board.
On Saturday, there were serveral top 3 finishes, with the Year 10 Eight, Year 10 Division 1 Quad, Year 10 Division 3 Quad and Year 9 Division One Quad all picking up 3rd placed finishes. Bridie Cooksey (Year 11) and Molly Pringle (Year 11) also finished 3rd and 2nd respectively in their Schoolgirl Singles races.
Sunday saw some more great results, with the Year 10 Division 1 & Division 3 Quads repeating their Saturday success with a 2nd and 3rd respectively. They were joined by the Year 9 Division 1 Quad who also picked up a 3rd, as did the Second Eight. Sophie Goldman (Year 9), Olivia Lucas (Year 9) and Madeline Studdert (Year 9) all won their Year 9 Scull races, with Kate Cooley (Year 9), Jessica Webster (Year 9) and Bethany Carr (Year 9) all finishing in 3rd. In the Schoolgirl Scull, Paige Critchlow (Year 9) and Molly Pringle (Year 11) picked up a 2nd place and 3rd place finish respectively.
A massive thank you to all the parents who were out there assisting on the day, led ably by the Rowing Parent Support Group – the weekend was a wonderful celebration of Loreto rowing!
Athletics
Well done to Tayla Moore (Year 5), who competed at the NSW PSSA Athletics Championships this week – she finished 1st in discus and 7th in shotput! What an awesome result – well done, Tayla!
Softball
Big congrats to Kendal Henderson (Year 7) and Chelsea Gleeson (Year 7), who played this past weekend in the U14 NSW State Softball Championship, with their teams both finishing joint 3rd.
Both girls were selected to the NSW Metro team to play in the National Tournament in Perth in January next year – awesome news, girls!

An important note regarding correct sport uniform for Saturday competition sport:
Students who are not dressed in the correct uniform for competition will not be allowed to play. In the case that a Loreto Sport staff member is not present, your team coach will have the authority to remove a student from play and/or not allow a student to start play. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter. It is our expectation that you will be appropriately dressed and in uniform while representing Loreto Normanhurst. Please see your sport specific booklets for full details on what uniform is required for your sport.
