On Sunday, our Cheer squad competed at the Battle of the Beaches out at Pittwater. It was an amazing day and the girls performed tremendously, finishing 1st in their division! What a great achievement!
That performance will lead in well to this weekend as they head out to the CheerBrandz National, which will be their last competition for the season – fingers crossed for our cheerleaders!
NSWCIS Teams Triathlon
On Monday, 33 girls competed in the NSWCIS Teams Triathlon at the Sydney International Regatta Centre, which was a pathway for the NSW All Schools Event to be held in March 2020. Congratulations to Zara Warland (Year 9), Arabella Price (Year 9) & Georgia Arcus (Year 10) , and Felicity Smith (Year 9), Sophie Kavanagh (Year 9) & Elli Barron (Year 8) who came 7th and 8th respectively overall in the Intermediate Division! Wonderful effort by the whole squad!
T20 Cricket Blast
It was a busy Monday on the Oval, as 14 Normo teams took on visiting teams from St Leos, Mount St Benedicts and Asquith Girls in the T20 Blast tournament. There was some fantastic skills on display and a great opportunity for girls to have a crack at cricket. A big congratulations to the girls in the Loreto Heat team who finished on top on the day and have been invited to compete at the next round later this term! Well done all!
On Thursday, our Primary Gymnastics team travelled out to the Sydney Gymnastics Aquatics Centre to compete at the IPSHA Gymnastics carnival. It was a great day for our girls to show off everything they’ve learned, and they all did a fantastic job with their routines – well done, girls!
At the time of going to print, our Secondary gymnasts are picking up where our IPSHA gymnasts left off, competing at the IGSSA Gymnastics Championships. It’s the biggest gymnastics team we’ve had for a number of years, and I’ll have a full wrap of results in next week’s newsletter.
This weekend sees the first regatta of the season and it’s ours! Loreto Normanhurst will continue it’s longstanding tradition of hosting the first regatta of the season and we look forward to getting the girls back on the lake at SIRC for their first competitive row of the season.
It is always a wonderful day of racing and festivities, and all are welcome to come along! Racing begins at 8am and runs through to just on 1pm.
Best of luck to our crews who will not only be competing in the Normo Regatta on Saturday, but will back up at the Loreto Kirribilli Regatta on Sunday! Go get ‘em, girls!
This weekend, it is predicted that there will be high temperatures and low air quality, so please take precautions when participating in sport. Some fixtures may introduce some modifications, such as reduced playing time and extra water breaks as required. Make sure you’re aware of the signs of dehydration and look out for your mates!

Students who are not dressed in the correct uniform for competition will not be allowed to play. In the case that a Loreto Sport staff member is not present, your team coach will have the authority to remove a student from play and/or not allow a student to start play. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter. It is our expectation that you will be appropriately dressed and in uniform while representing Loreto Normanhurst.
