IGSSA Cross Country

It was a magnificent morning in Mittagong last Friday for the IGSSA Cross Country Championships. The Loreto Normanhurst team arrived from all over the place, with the Year 8 girls leaving their Collaroy camp on Thursday night and the Year 10 girls heading up from their Canberra excursion on the morning of the event – thank you to everyone for ensuring the girls arrived at Frensham in time for the Championships.

There were some awesome results across the board with a number of top 15 finishes. Well done to the following girls – we’ll let you know who’s been selected for the IGSSA team to run at the CIS Championships once it is announced.

Cricket

Following on from last week’s great cricket news, congratulations are also in order to Isabella Tesoriero (Year 7), who has been selected into the Cricket NSW Female Academy Under 13 Metropolitan squad and to Grace Boulding (Year 9) who has also been selected with Olivia Fanning (Year 11), in the Under 17’s Metro Squad. Well done Bella and Grace!

Hockey

Great news for Sigourney Berkery (Year 10) who has been selected into the NSW U/16’s All Schools Team to play at the Australian School Sport Hockey Championships from 3 August – 10 August 2019 in Newcastle.

On top of that awesome achievement, after playing in the U18’s State Championships in Taree earlier this month, Sigourney was selected into the AAP (Australian Accelerated Program) for 2019-2020 – great job, Sigourney!

Diving

Well done to Charlotte Horbach (Year 5) who competed in at the NSW Elite Junior Championships for Diving. Charlotte placed second in both her events receiving silver on the 3 metre springboard and 1 metre springboard – fantastic results!

Netball

Well done to Emily Paterson (Year 6) who represented IPSHA at the CIS Primary Netball Championships last week – the IPSHA team came 6th overall. Congrats, Emily!

Duke of Ed

Huge congrats to the 74 Bronze Duke of Ed participants, who last weekend undertook their first Adventurous Journey in the Berowra Valley. The girls conquered all challenges in their path, canoeing, camping and cooking their way through the weekend and are now well prepared to face the challenge of their qualifying journey later in the year. A big thank you goes out to the five parents who volunteered their time and care to accompany the girls on this journey as the school’s representatives.

Balmoral Burn

Good luck to our two teams who will be taking on Awaba Street in Mosman this Sunday in the ‘Head of the Hill’ Senior Girls Relay! It’s a 420m sprint relay on an incline that is not for the faint of heart! Good luck, girls!

Wet Weather Information

A reminder for how to access information regarding ground closures due to wet weather for weekend sport. Please make sure you check the relevant website prior to leaving home to ensure your venue is open for play.
