IGSSA Representative Team Selections
Following on from last week’s good luck, congratulations to the following students who trialled for IGSSA Representative teams over the past week.
Charli Fidler (Year 10) and Erin O’Brien (Year 10) kicked us off in style on Friday, with both earning selection into the IGSSA Open Netball team. This was followed on Tuesday with Charlotte Flaherty (Year 12) getting the nod for the IGSSA Open Hockey squad. The week of success was rounded off with Eloise Hansen (Year 11) and Greta Kraszula (Year 11) both earning their spots in the IGSSA Open Football squad.
Congratulations to all the girls selected and best of luck as they move to the CIS Championships in their respective sports.
Swimming
On Monday, we have eight Normo girls swimming in the CIS Squad at the NSW All Schools Swimming Championships. Our 6 x 50m All Age Relay team are back in action, as are Claudia Stratton (Year 9) and Maddison Hinds (Year 8). Maddie will be coming into the meet with an extra accolade – she was named the Multiclass Swimmer of the Meet at the CIS Championships which is an awesome achievement, and very well deserved on the back of her medal haul at the event. Good luck girls!
IGSSA Cross Country
This Friday, it’s time to bust out the wool-lined running shoes as our Cross Country team take on the best IGSSA have to offer as well as the chilly Mittagong morning for the annual IGSSA Cross Country Championships. A strong squad of 47 girls have been named, and we wish each and every one of them the best of luck for their run on Friday!
Hayden Fitness Centre
Earlier today, the Hayden Fitness Centre was officially named and blessed by Ms Ugonotti. Luka Swain (Year 11) and Bernice O’Brien (Year 11) spoke about Mother Antoinette Hayden, after whom the space is named, and why it is so fitting that the Centre be named in her honour. Sport Captain Zoe Warland (Year 12) led us in prayer and then it was over to Ms Ugonotti to deliver her blessing on the space and on all those who will use it. The Centre has been buzzing with noise and energy and it’s tremendous to see so many eager students making use of the facility before and after school.
Extra-curricular Fair
On Monday, there was fantastic energy in the Quad as the school hosted its inaugural Extra-curricular Fair. Sport had some amazing student representation and it was an opportunity for students to ask questions about any of the programs and activities we have on offer.
If you want any information about any of the programs we have on offer, please see the table below about which Sport Administrator covers your program, or simply send an email to sport@loretonh.nsw.edu.au and your query will be directed to the right person.
Wet Weather Information
With a few clouds around, a reminder for how to access information regarding ground closures due to wet weather for weekend sport. Please make sure you check the relevant website prior to leaving home to ensure your venue is open for play.

Correct Sport Uniform
An important note regarding correct sport uniform for Saturday competition sport:
Students who are not dressed in the correct uniform for competition will NOT be allowed to play. In the case that a Loreto Sport staff member is not present, your team coach will have the authority to remove a student from play and/or not allow a student to start play. Thank you in advance, for your cooperation in this matter. It is our expectation that you will be appropriately dressed and in uniform while representing Loreto Normanhurst. Please see your sport specific booklets for full details on what uniform is required for your sport.
