Taekwondo

Awesome news from afar – Juliet Lahood (Year 11) competed in the Dutch Open for Taekwondo in the Junior Female 44kg and Under Division and beat all who stood in her way to take out gold! It is a fantastic achievement for Juliet, given the strength of the competition. We’re all very proud of her and wish her all the best as she travels to Belgium to compete in the Belgian Open this weekend – good luck Juliet!

IGSSA Representative Hockey

Following on from last week’s item, a further congratulations to Sigourney Berkery (Year 10) who was selected in the IGSSA U/16’s Representative Hockey Squad to compete at the CIS Championships later this term – great job Sigourney!

Head of the River

This weekend, the cream of the Schoolgirl Rowing crop will be duking it out for gold at the 29th NSW Schoolgirl Head of the River, out at the Sydney International Regatta Centre in Penrith. It’s shaping up as a fantastic weekend of racing, and the entire rowing squad has worked so hard all season in preparation for this race. Best of luck to everyone involved this weekend – go Normo! We’ll do a full update in next week’s newsletter.

IGSSA  Swim & Dive Championships

An early good luck to the Loreto Normanhurst Swim & Dive squad who will be competing next Friday at the IGSSA Swim & Dive Championships at SOPAC. We’ll have a full run down on the event in future newsletters. Claudia Stratton (Year 9) will be competing at the Championships for the first time in the 50m Multiclass Freestyle event, and she is our Sportsgirl of the Week!

Correct Sport Uniform

An important note regarding correct sport uniform for Saturday competition sport:

Students who are not dressed in the correct uniform for competition will NOT be allowed to play. In the case that a Loreto Sport staff member is not present, your team coach will have the authority to remove a student from play and/or not allow a student to start play. Thank you in advance, for your cooperation in this matter. It is our expectation that you will be appropriately dressed and in uniform while representing Loreto Normanhurst. Please see your sport specific booklets for full details on what uniform is required for your sport.
