TOUCH FOOTBALL

Well done to our Years 7 and 8 touch footy team who spent last Friday competing against the best the state has to offer at the NSW All Schools Touch Football State Finals. The girls played some excellent footy in the face of very tough opponents, finishing 4th in their pool. Unfortunately, this wasn’t enough to progress through to the knockout stage, however they all put in a great effort – well done, girls!

SWIMMING CARNIVAL

Swim season is officially here! This Tuesday, our secondary school swimming carnival takes place at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre as our top swimmers go head to head to see who comes away as age champion, division champion and the all-important queen of the pool. We’re also looking forward to seeing the colour and festivities as the eight Houses battle it out for the Spirit Cup and the overall points score winners. Entry is from 7:30am with warm ups beginning at 8:00am. Swimming begins from 8:30am with the 200IM – all spectators are welcome to attend.

WEDNESDAY: RECOVERY

On Thursday, we’re back at it with the Primary School Swimming Carnival in the Loreto Normanhurst pool. Benedicta, Clare and Dorothea Houses are practicing their cheers in preparation for a fantastic day in the pool. Racing begins just after 9am and all spectators are welcome to attend.

HAYDEN FITNESS CENTRE

On Monday we open our refurbished fitness centre, named after Mother Antoinette Hayden, who was a tremendous advocate for sport at Loreto Normanhurst. Students will have the opportunity to trial programs and equipment in preparation for the roll-out of a full program in 2019. This is a space that is open to all students of Loreto Normanhurst, with the program designed to ensure that every student, regardless of experience, will find participating in the fitness program rewarding.

CORRECT SPORT UNIFORM

Students who are not dressed in the correct uniform for competition will not be allowed to play. In the case that a Loreto Sport Staff member is not present, your team coach will have the authority to remove a student from play and/or not allow a student to start play. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter. It is our expectation that you will be appropriately dressed and in uniform while representing Loreto Normanhurst. Please see your sport specific booklets for full details on what uniform is required for your sport.
