NORMO REGATTA

Last Saturday, we hosted the traditional opening regatta of the 2018/19 season at the Sydney International Regatta Centre – and what a day it was! The stands and the hill were awash with navy and gold as crews from schools across Sydney came to take part. The conditions were slightly less than ideal, with the crews rowing into a hot headwind all day, but the students gave it their all in each race and we saw some fantastic results across the board.

If you thought that wasn’t enough, the rowers then backed up on Sunday to row in the Loreto Kirribilli regatta to round out a great weekend of action at SIRC.
A huge thanks to our rowing parent group, led by Leigh Cooksey and Paul Barr, who took on roles from merchandise sales to catering and timekeeping, allowing us to host what I think (totally unbiased, of course!) is the best regatta of the year.

Well done, too, to our coaching staff, led by Head Coach Matt Curtin for their efforts to prepare the girls and get them to the start line.

Special thanks also to our tireless Rowing Coordinator Jess Levy, who was a ‘jack of all trades’ in organising the Regatta event in conjunction with overseeing the preparation of the crews for the upcoming season.

And last, but certainly not least, well done to all the girls who competed and special mention to the crews who came home from the weekend with a bit of extra bling around their necks! Well done, girls!

IGSSA GYMNASTICS

Last Friday, our secondary school gymnastics team competed at the IGSSA Gymnastics Carnival out at the Sydney Gymnastics and Aquatic Centre. Special mention goes to Jemma Vaughn, Georgia Tapner & Brynnin Barr, who all recorded top 10 results at the meet – congrats!

CORRECT SPORT UNIFORM

Students who are not dressed in the correct uniform for competition will not be allowed to play. In the case that a Loreto Sport Staff member is not present, your team coach will have the authority to remove a student from play and/or not allow a student to start play. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter. It is our expectation that you will be appropriately dressed and in uniform while representing Loreto Normanhurst. Please see your sport specific booklets for full details on what uniform is required for your sport.
