This little poem captures something wondrous about the wind. The wind is never seen but is clearly known by its work. Jesus compared the will of the wind to the work of God’s Spirit: “The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit” (John 3:8).

Often the Spirit is seen in surprising places, challenging our prejudices and our stereotypes. This is ever more so in our increasingly secular world. The 2000 movie, Chocolat, is a marvellous tale about the surprises of the Spirit blowing life into hardened and deadened places and inviting its characters into new ways of thinking and looking at each other.

Join us to hear the story of Chocolat, watch a little of the movie and reflect together on where the voice of the Spirit might be today and what that might mean for us.

All welcome. We look forward to seeing you there.
