Wrap with Love

In Terms 2 and 3, Loreto Normanhurst participated in the Wrap with Love program. Wrap with Love is a charity that distributes hand-knitted blankets to people in need in Australia and overseas. Volunteers knit colourful squares, which are then assembled into blankets. At Loreto Normanhurst this year, over 50 students from Years 7 to 10, along with their parents, grandparents and Loreto staff, worked together to create 23 blankets.

During lunchtimes on Thursdays, in Terms 2 and 3, we would go to the DRC, collect our knitting needles and wool and head to the GBC where we watched Brooklyn 99 or listened to music with other volunteers in our year. Some students learnt to knit for the first time and others were able to practice and share their skills whilst chatting and laughing with friends.

Next year, we encourage everyone to get involved with the Wrap with Love program! You don’t have to come every week, but in doing the program, you will be having fun with your friends whilst learning a new skill and helping the wider community. We hope to see you next year in Term 2!
