Primary School News
If parents want to give their children a gift, the best thing they can do is teach their children to love challenges, be intrigued by mistakes, enjoy effort and keep on learning. That way their children don’t have to be slaves of praise. They will have a lifelong way to build and repair their own confidence.

A warm welcome back to all our families. We hope you had a wonderful break and are feeling refreshed and renewed for the term ahead. The girls are already busily working away and are already embracing the exciting learning opportunities that have been planned.
This week the girls had the opportunity to gain selection to the Mathematical Olympiad and Maths Games challenge. The Australasian Problem Solving Mathematical Olympiads (APSMO) is a not-for-profit, professional organisation that offers a range of mathematical competitions for students aged from eight to 14. The programs are unique in that they focus on the student’s ability to solve mathematical problems in a creative manner – as opposed to simply reaching a solution using a prescribed method.
The APSMO Maths Olympiad has been operating in primary schools since 1987. Each year thousands of schools participate in the competition from around Australia and New Zealand.
In 2015 APSMO introduced the Maths Games to provide an opportunity for students in Years 5 and 6 to learn valuable problem solving skills and expose them to the application of mathematical problem solving strategies and techniques.
Congratulations to the following girls:
