Kidpreneur update

The coins have all been counted and I am pleased to announce that the Primary School will be donating $4185 to the House of Welcome. This is our best result yet!

Now that our Market Day is over, the girls have the opportunity to enter the Club Kidpreneur Challenge competition where they have to create a video pitch. What a unique opportunity it was for the girls to develop business ideas, work in a team, make a product, market it and sell to the public. We are very grateful for the wonderful community support of such a worthy cause.

Kidpreneur Reflections

“Kidpreneur was an amazing experience. In the weeks leading up to Kidpreneur market day everybody was so excited. The modules were fun as well as educational. Every group had their hardships, but the market day was as great as ever. There were a wide range of stalls ranging from drinks to hairdressers and terrariums. When it came to the market day the COLA was buzzing with excitement. When 10:30am came and the parents flowed in, everyone was anxious to sell  their products. It was a great and fun day for everyone. “

“The big day had arrived (more quickly than we had expected)! It was Kidpreneur Market Day and the Primary School quad and learning common areas were transformed into a colourful marketplace. Over the past eight weeks, groups of 3-4 girls designed and created products and business names. Everyone worked very hard and stayed up late the night before to add the finishing touches to their products. Looking around the market, there were reusable mugs/bags, vibrant coloured tulips, crazy circus games, and when you needed refreshments, there were slushies, popcorn and cake pops on hand. My group sold colourful slime and decorative bookmarks. We thoroughly enjoyed working together as a team and feeling the sense of achievement as we sold the products we had developed.”

This week, our talented athletes took part in the Combined Independent Schools (CIS) Athletics Carnival. The girls performed extremely well. The results are as follows;

  • Neve Tierney placed 10th in the 11 years 800m
  • Lucia Van Der Heiden placed 15th in the 11 years 200m
  • Alex O’Brien  placed 16th in the Senior Long Jump
  • Lucia Van der Heiden also placed 2nd in the long jump with a personal best of 1m 33cm, qualifying for the PSSA State Championships later on this year.

Well done girls!
