Primary School News
Good leaders invigorate lives; they’re like spring rain and sunshine.
Proverbs 16:15
Today Year 6 came together to celebrate the gift of leadership in a joyous Liturgy. All girls were called to be part of the rich Loreto tradition and to lead by example in the way they live and speak and the choices they make. The girls were called to live out the values of Freedom, Justice, Felicity, Sincerity and Verity.
Year 6 made a promise to pledge their commitment and in particular how they will use their gifts to serve our community and lead the Primary School. The girls also wrote individual pledges which illustrated how carefully they had thought about this great responsibility. As one student said, ‘I pledge to be a responsible and honest leader. I will try my best to live out the Loreto values throughout my whole Loreto School Life, I will serve our community and hold my head up high.’
Each girl then came forward to be anointed by Ms Watkins and the girls who had been elected to leadership roles were presented with their badges. We concluded the service with a prayer for our Year 6 leaders and a beautiful blessing sung by Maddie Campbell and Emma Bower. Girls and parents then joined together in the Primary School to enjoy a celebratory morning tea.
