SRC Year 7 & 12 Trivia afternoon – ‘Dynamic Duos’

The annual Year 7 & 12 Trivia afternoon is a much-anticipated event hosted by the SRC. This year saw the continuation of the tradition last Friday 5 February. Each girl embraced the theme of ‘Dynamic Duos’ and we saw some of the most iconic and cleverly thought-out outfits ranging from Donald Trump and his ‘Spray Tan Bottle’ (who took out the ‘Best Costume’ prize), to Winnie the Pooh and Piglet. The night was led by another memorable duo, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, whose humour and entertainment facilitated an exciting atmosphere.

The afternoon was imbued with plenty of laughter, trivia rivalry and excitement with the development of prospering friendships among our new Year 7 girls. The trivia was both diverse and challenging in nature with some categories including general knowledge, ‘Which teacher said this quote?’, ‘Guess the Dynamic Duo’ and ‘Finish the Lyric’. In a fun-filled and lively environment, the Trivia afternoon truly showcased the strength and value that lies in Normo’s Buddy Program, which works to establish meaningful and authentic connections between the Year 12 and Year 7 girls.

The success of the night was an amalgamation of valuable input, dedication and hard work from a variety of staff and students, namely the Student Representative Council (SRC) whose constant efforts and planning were imperative to the running of the night. Further, I extend my thanks and gratitude to members of the Pastoral Team who thoughtfully managed to ensure that the current social climate of our global community didn’t dampen the spirits of our Year 7 & 12 girls, allowing them to accumulate valuable memories here at Loreto Normanhurst.
