Parent Association

Hopefully you’ve almost settled back into your school routines and I’m sure you’re just about ready for another holiday!
As mentioned last week the information nights have been a great success and an opportunity for parents to gain valuable insight into the school’s plans for their year group. Our PAL team have also enjoyed being part of those evening and sharing what we have in plan for all of you to come along and enjoy. We’re looking forward to sharing those details with our Years 7 – 10 parents soon, so please come along with your questions and ask us how you can become involved with PAL this year as there will be so many opportunities.
PAL’s plans for Open Day are under way as we host the cake stall, Devonshire tea and BBQ. You’ll soon see the cake boards arrive home for you (or your daughter) to whip up a culinary delight for the cake stall. Our thanks go to Kate Brown who has offered to organise the stall again for the parents and for Lynnette Jones’s assistance, from the school’s Development Team, for the distribution of the cake boards.
We’ll have a Try Booking site open soon for you to volunteer for our BBQ team duties to flip a steak or two, and to also enjoy the conversation and laughs we always have on the day.
As always, please let us know if you would like to join the wider team as our Year Parent Coordinators. Usually there are two to four parents for each year group and we run an information session to provide details to those who are interested or who volunteer straight away. If you are interested in becoming a coordinator this year then please send Louise and I an email through the PAL email or give either of us a call to discuss.
Looking forward to a very exciting year of events, friendship building, fundraising and enjoying being a Loreto parent.

Year 12 City/Country Mothers’ Weekend Away – Escape to Mudgee
Friday 22nd – Sunday 24th March
For some, another daughter is entering her last year of school, for others, it’s our first time experiencing the beginning of all ‘the lasts’ with the Year 12 cohort of 2019.
To mark this occasion we have booked some time to go away and share our stories, laugh and reminisce about the very special years we have shared together at Loreto Normanhurst with the Year 12 graduating Class of 2019.
Date: 22-24 March 209
Venue: Mudgee
Use the link below to register for the Year 12 City/Country Mothers’ Weekend Away and pay a $50.00 deposit that will be reimbursed before departure. Once we have firm numbers we can finalise bookings with the venues.
Come along, catch up with old friends make a few new ones. Enjoy some time out, rest and relax at one of the lovely accommodation venues available in Mudgee. Attend all or only one of the events we will plan, it is totally up to you as it’s your time to share with others or enjoy a little quiet time for you.
