Year 7 Family Dinner – Thank you!
The Year 7 Family Dinner was a great success and well represented with a record number of families in attendance. A very special thank-you to the helpers who made the night a success, especially to the many Year 8 Parents who volunteered their time to set up and help throughout the event, many hands certainly made the load lighter.
To the decorating team, a special mention to Tanya Lorimer (Year 7 & 8 Parent) & Gabe Donlevy (Year 7 Parent) who assisted greatly in design development, setting up the tables and place settings for the event.
The boot scootin’ was once again a hit with the children and parents involved in the fun and for families getting to know each other. Our caterers served up a delicious spit roast buffet which was extremely popular. On behalf of the Parent Association (PAL) and the generous time the staff gave to attend, all made the night a fabulous event.

As one door closes another opens, Term 2 is just through that next door and with it comes the Parent Association’s major social and fundraising event for 2016 .
Each year we have one major social / fund raising event to focus on. Last year it was the Spring Fair, this year it is our Trivia Night taking place on Saturday 21 May, 2016.
The energy and excitement from the PAL Executive Committee to make this the biggest Trivia Night EVER at Normanhurst is quite contagious! Amongst the organising team we seem to have a few highly competitive individuals, some trivia buffs, some social butterflies and a few who simply like raising funds to help make a difference. What about you? Come along if you are any or all of the above or maybe something else that we have not thought of. This ties in with our theme for 2016. It will be an “L&N” Trivia Night. This could be wearing something that starts with the letters ‘L’ or ‘N’ or maybe not! It could be to do with Loreto Normanhurst, (colours, houses, history) or ……it could be anything, it is really up to you and your team.
There will be lots of fun messages, clues and challenges being sent out to parents over the 4 – 6 weeks as we prepare to take the Trivia Challenge in teams of 10, so make sure you keep an eye out on Loreto Normanhurst social media sites as this year we might get a little creative in using our technology skills to separate the trivia masters from the amateurs….which one are you?
