A windy cold snap has arrived this weekend and some of us will be in our winter woollies on the sidelines watching sport, while others might be warm and cosy inside with a hot drink! Throughout the change in seasons we continue to enjoy and look forward to a number of events coming up in the next few weeks.
Next Wednesday 16 May is the Loreto Normanhurst/Kirribilli Morning Tea, hosted this year by Kirribilli. Join us for a lovely cuppa and delicious treats whilst hearing from fabulous speakers – Stephanie Lorenzo (LN, ’02), Founder of PROJECT FUTURES, and Clare Pearson, CEO. See information below in the Event section.
Also next Wednesday is the next PAL Meeting at 7.30pm in the Curran Theatre. All parents are welcome. We would love for you to come along to hear the latest update from our Principal, Ms Barbara Watkins, as well as share in all the exciting plans for our upcoming events.
Thank you to all parents, friends and ex-students who attended the Careers Expo on Wednesday evening for their invaluable contribution of experience and knowledge. It was a very well-attended event, one that I am sure has given our girls much food for thought.
The Principal’s Country Road Trip is coming up in June. Please see details below, including how to book your place for the various events being held in the Orange, Young, Wagga Wagga and Griffith regions.
It was such a special evening at the Mother Daughter Dinner last Saturday night at the Epping Club. Everyone was in high spirits and enjoyed the company, laughter, great food and fun dancing! The following morning we gathered at the Chapel for the Mother Daughter Eucharist where we enjoyed a beautiful liturgy before venturing out into the glorious autumn sunshine for morning tea. Many thanks to all parents who supported these events.
This Sunday is Mothers’ Day and we hope everyone has a wonderful day. For some, it may be a time to reflect on the memories of their mothers. We also acknowledge the fathers who parent alone and the many women who contribute to parenting in positive ways through the community. It is quite true of the proverb that, “It takes a village to raise a child.”
PAL would like to wish all mothers a Happy Mothers’ Day this Sunday and we hope your families spoil you.
If you have any questions about getting involved with PAL, please email Tracey. Everyone is welcome!
