A huge thank you to Suzie Sherwood and Angela Quinn for organising a fabulous City/Country Mothers’ Lunch last week. The Gonzaga Barry Centre was decorated beautifully with the theme ‘Produce to Plate’, as well as an having a cute Easter vibe. Many country families donated fresh produce for the lunch, as well as other items that were raffled as prizes.
We had an exceptional speaker, Alex Carew, Class of ’84. Alex shared with us her journey at Loreto and beyond, and her involvement in the establishment of the Boarder Choir; this was most fitting as the Lunch preceded our annual Music Festival held that evening at the International Convention Centre in Sydney.
Wow, how talented are all our girls and what fabulous voices they have! The Music Festival was so entertaining with an array of bands, choirs, individual performances, dancing and, of course, the special musical item in celebration of Ms Watkins.
We had a wonderful night of ‘Boot Scooting’ on Saturday 24 March at the Year 7 Family Dinner. It was a fun night amongst the country theme and all 360 ‘Boot Scooters’ in attendance did a fabulous job! We had a wonderful team of Year 8 parents who coordinated the evening, led by Jane Dalton and Sally Oong who also took on the role of MC on the night. Thank you all again on behalf of PAL.
The Autumn weather we enjoyed over Easter was truly glorious. We hope everyone enjoyed the break and we look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events in Term 2. If you have any general questions about getting involved with PAL, please email Tracey. Everyone is welcome!

City/Country Fathers’ Weekend Away – the Dads are heading to the Hunter!
25-27 May 2018
The dads of the Loreto community are going to gather in the magnificent Hunter Valley on the weekend of the 25 – 27 May. Those that ventured to Orange for the inaugural Fathers’ Weekend last year can attest to the great time we had as a group of dads and we expect to build on our success. We especially hope boarder dads will join us for a weekend of modest wine sipping and food tasting. There will be a number of options of activities to suit the golfers, cyclists and gourmands amongst us. We are expecting a special guest speaker/s for the dinner on the Saturday night, for a good cause similar to last year’s White Ribbon event.
We will be pulling together a small team of dads to help coordinate this event. Please let Rob or Mal know if you are interested in helping organise the weekend. All are most welcome to come and have a great time and relax as a group in pleasant surroundings.
