Co-Presidents’ Message

Welcome back! As mentioned at the end of last term, we have lots of exciting events planned for Term 2, as well as beginning to make plans for our Spring Fair taking place on 22 October 2017.

Shortly we will invite our very talented parents across all year groups to come along to a briefing on how you might like to get involved in the Spring Fair and  utilise your wonderful skills and experience to make this event a success once again.  Please think about attending with your family or  bringing along a couple of friends from your year group. The more the merrier!

However, before we lock in this date, we want to focus on the next few weeks of wonderful events taking place to kick off Term 2. Make sure you have all relevant events marked in your diary. We have summarised these once more below to help you check them off!

Parent Association Meeting: Curran theatre

Wednesday 3 May 2017 – 7:30pm

Please come along to hear an update from Ms Barbara Watkins on key plans and activities taking place across the school during Term 2 and understand a little bit more about the activities run by the Parent Association of Loreto (PAL) throughout the term.  The meeting will take place on Wednesday 3 May from 7.30pm in the Curran Theatre. We looking forward to seeing you there.

Year 7 Family Dinner: gymnasium

Saturday 6 May 2017 – 6:00pm

A fantastic night to meet up with parents and siblings from your daughter’s house. This event is always such an enjoyable family evening, with  a country theme complete with some  country dancing. Invitations have  been sent out so please check your inbox,  book those tickets and make a note of this date in your diary – this is one you definitely should not miss!

Mother Daughter Eucharist:  chapel and front drive

Sunday 7 May 2017 – 9:30am

A lovely way to share some special time with your daughter/s in the beautiful Chapel located within the grounds of Loreto Normanhurst. Take some time to sit quietly and enjoy the ambience of this  spiritual space before heading out into the sunshine for a cup of tea and some light refreshments within the lovely grounds, adjacent to the Chapel.

Current Parent / Ex-Student Morning Tea: Reception Room

Monday 8 May – 8:00am

Ex-students who are now current parents are warmly invited to attend this special Morning Tea in our Loreto Normanhurst Reception Room. At the commencement of the Morning Tea at 8am, your daughter is invited to join you for Mother/ Daughter photographs to celebrate the occasion. Please extend this invitation to any other current parents you know who are ex-students of other Loreto Schools. We would love them to join us.

Loreto  Normanhurst / Kirribilli Morning Tea: Gonzaga Barry Centre 3.01 – 3.04

Friday 12 May 2017 – 10:30am

What a lovely way to start the day with a nicely brewed cup of tea or coffee, some home made Morning Tea treats, shared with mums from Loreto Kirribilli, whilst we hear from a guest speaker on a topic of interest. This year, this special Morning Tea will take place  at Loreto Normanhurst. We will provide the venue and the Morning Tea, whilst Loreto Kirribilli have  organised our wonderful guest speaker – Cathy O’Connor, Chief Executive Officer, Nova Entertainment. We hope many Mums can join us for this lovely event.

It is almost here, the much anticipated weekend away for Fathers’ of Loreto Normanhurst. If you  haven’t had a chance to book your place, don’t worry! We have extended the try booking cut-off date to accommodate a few late entrants…but do not delay, BOOK NOW!  We have reviewed the itinerary and we are a little envious.  So come along and join other Dads, get a group together from your daughter’s year group and enjoy a bit of time out in beautiful Orange. Please  click here to book and secure your place with a $50.00 deposit.

Please click here for the invitation.

Also, looking out toward the end of the year, but to ensure you have the date securely marked in pen in your diaries…

Friday 24 – Sunday 26 NOVEMBER

We want to ask all Mums to SAVE THE DATE for our eagerly awaited City/Country Mothers’ Weekend Away for 2017 following the great success of our 2016 event.

We are not following in the footsteps of the Dads, rather we are blazing our own trail, following on from our surveyed responses from participants last year, where the majority indicated that after visiting Mudgee, they would next like to explore the Orange region in 2017.

Several Mums have approached me, keen to be on the organising team for 2017 which is fantastic! If you would also like to join the organising team (also ok by phone if you are country based, which worked well last year), everyone is welcome, please drop me an email  and we  can catch up by phone and/or face to face early in Term 2 to get some details locked in.

This year we will have Mums source their own accommodation to simplify logistics. I have been advised that the weekend we have chosen might be a little busy in Orange, so I suggest you source and book accommodation early!

We will send out the formal invitation with the deposit to secure your place, early in Term 2, so keep your eye out for this email too!
