We cannot quite believe that next week is the end of Term 1 – wow! How fast the time has passed and we have certainly brought the Term to a close with a lot of festivity.
Primary Family Picnic: reflections from mrs Tanya Critchlow, our primary parent representative:
The Primary Family Picnic was a fabulous occasion, with many families taking up the opportunity to come and meet with other Primary Parents and get to know some of the wonderful children they have heard so much about. The children enjoyed the outdoor activities and we would like to especially thank our boarder girls who played netball, tennis and other sports with the children. Just as the picnic blankets went down on the beautiful Primary Oval, the rain came along, but it did not dampen the spirits of the group! We moved the picnic under cover and continued to share some of the amazing food contributed by all parents, along with lots of laughter. A fantastic day was had by all and we would like to extend special thanks to Miss Lauren Kirkby who beautifully coordinated this event.
City/Country Mothers’ Lunch:
The City/Country Mothers’ Lunch, held on Wednesday this week was a wonderful celebration of the school parent community. Our sincere thanks to Suzie Sherwood, Sara Roche and Maree Austin-Cray for their leadership in creating such a beautiful event. We would also like to thank the many mums across both city and country who worked so hard to prepare the event throughout the morning– it was worth it! The atmosphere on the day was fantastic. Our impromptu talk from Rowena Curtis, Records Manager and Archivist, who shared some of the history and the story of Loreto Normanhurst was so informative and our guest speaker, Emma Gibson, provided a highly entertaining insight into life at Loreto Normanhurst through the eyes of her family, who have experienced Loreto Normanhurst across four generations.
This is always such a very special event and we are already looking forward to next year!
There is a lot to look forward to in Term 2.
Year 7 Family Dinner, Gymnasium
Saturday 6 May – 6:00pm
The Year 7 Family Dinner is the start of our social calendar next term. Such a wonderful opportunity to meet the families of the friends your daughter has mentioned since commencing in Year 7 earlier this year. Sharing a meal and some laughter whilst learning the art of “boot scooting” creates the bonds of friendship between all of our attendees. Make sure you look out for the invitation early in Term 2!
Mother Daughter Eucharist
Sunday 7 May 2017
Our very special Mother Daughter Eucharist will be held on Sunday 7 May 2017 to celebrate Mothers’ Day.
City/Country Dads’ Weekend Away

Following lots of special Mum time, the Dads will be heading off to Orange for their much anticipated weekend away. We hope you have booked a ticket, but it is not too late! Please click here to book and secure your place with a $50.00 deposit. Please click here for the invitation.
We hope our many new families across Years 7 – 11 have enjoyed many “firsts” this term at Loreto Normanhurst: Welcome Morning Teas, 120 Year Cocktail Party, Open Day, Primary Family Picnic, City/Country Mothers’ Lunch and of course the amazing Music Festival. We hope that through each of these events, you have made new friends and for our existing parents we hope that you have reconnected with old ones, continuing to build on the wonderful parent community within Loreto Normanhurst.
