Thanks to Jane Dalton (Secondary) and Katrina Leonardi (Primary) who will take on this role. A communication will go out to all families shortly providing contact details for the parent coordinators. It’s not too late to volunteer to be a parent coordinator – drop Jane Dalton or Katrina Leonardi an email and they will get in touch.
What’s On?
Over the next couple of weeks our PAL Executive will be focused on early planning for key school and PAL events that will be taking place this year. In particular, planning for Term 1 events:
Information evening & 120 Year Celebration Cocktail Party
Friday 3rd March from 7.00pm
We are really looking forward to catching up with parents at this very special event for 2017. What a special occasion to have the entire parent body across Years 5–12 join together to share in the celebration of this significant milestone in the Loreto Normanhurst story. We will have the opportunity to hear from Ms Watkins and the school leadership teams with important information updates for each particular year group. Make sure you don’t miss out – use the link here to book your tickets.
School Open Day
Saturday 11 March from 11.00am–3.00pm.
PAL host three stalls on this day; BBQ, Devonshire Tea and Cake Stall. This is a great day to welcome prospective families into our school environment. Not only to showcase the wonderful curriculum and facilities within our school but also to demonstrate the very strong and inclusive culture that defines our parent community. In a few weeks you will receive an email with a link to the “TryBooking” system to register as a volunteer to help out on one of these stalls during Open Day. We appreciate any time you can spare on this day.
Open Day cake stall working bee
9:30am Friday 24 February 2017 in the Boarders Dining Room
There will be a working bee on Friday 24 February 2017 at 9:30am – 12:00pm (approx) in the Boarders Dining room to put together the cake ‘kits’ for the Open Day Cake Stall. The Open Day Cake Stall is an annual fundraiser organised on behalf of the PAL and contributes to PAL’s fundraising goals for the year.
Kate Brown is organising the cake stall this year and would very much appreciate your help at the working bee if possible, even for some of the time. All welcome and morning tea will be provided. We need at least 20 people so if you can spare any time Kate would be very grateful.
The working bee is an excellent opportunity to get together, meet new parents and friends and get involved with the Loreto Community. If you would like to be a part of the working bee please email Kate Brown or phone on 0407 408 908. We look forward to seeing you there.
City/Country Mothers Lunch – save the date
Wednesday 29th March from 11.30am
A great event where we have the chance to come together as city/country mums to re-connect, make new friends and share our stories over a casual meal, whilst also having the chance to hear from an interesting guest speaker. Our country team have set a high benchmark for this event, creating the function theme and bringing this to life with fresh produce, beautiful table arrangements, raffle prizes including beautiful country fare; gourmet jams, wine and condiments. Make sure you book early when this invitation comes out as spaces are limited.
General PAL meeting
Wednesday 8 March at 7.30pm in the Curran Theatre
Don’t forget to diairise our first general PAL meeting for 2017 in the Curran Theatre. Come along to hear firsthand from Ms Watkins on plans for the year ahead across the school.
We hope to see you at the many events throughout the year, but feel free to contact either Louise or Sue in the meantime if you have any question in relation to PAL – we would love to hear from you.
Best wishes,
Sue Whipps & Louise Wytenburg
