Parent Association

Co-Presidents’ Message
Last week we held the Annual General Meeting for the Loreto Normanhurst Parent Association (PAL). During the meeting we presented a cheque to the value of $22,000, our gift on behalf of the parents of Loreto Normanhurst as a result of all of our fund raising efforts in 2016. Ms Watkins gratefully accepted the cheque and shared with us the school’s plans to utilise these funds to continue to enhance the school grounds, in particular to extend shading structures within the areas adjacent to the main ovals.
We also took the opportunity to thank the existing PAL Executive for their efforts over the past 12 months and to wish outgoing team members well as they leave their roles at the end of 2016. On behalf of all parents we would like to thank Mr Johan Nelis (Treasurer 2016), Kyle Nacard (Assistant Treasurer), Mrs Angie Smith (Boarder Liaison) and Mrs Caitilin Studdert (Primary Liaison) for their wonderful work and contribution across 2016. 0ur very best wishes for the future.
Finally, we are delighted to announce the following parents as our newly elected PAL Executive Committee members for 2017.

WE WANT YOU…AS A Year PARENT CO-ORDINATOR 2017!
Take the plunge, think about taking on this role with a friend for 2017. It will only take a little bit of your time, but we guarantee you will have a whole lot of fun and will get more out of this than you have to put into it…please think about it and let us know via email if you are interested and we will help you from there!
Our Year Parent Co-ordinators play a key role as a personal contact point for the Parent Association of Loreto (PAL) across Year Groups and House Groups. They help bring parents together and ensure key messages make it out to families providing updates on PAL and Development Office events. You don’t have to attend all of the events, but you can make a difference by providing the personal touch, for example, welcoming a new family to the school in your Year Group, encouraging parents to get a table together for a school fund raising event or helping to organise a social gathering for your Year Group or House Group. Any or all of the above will make a difference and ensure we continue to build a culture of friendship and collaboration at Loreto Normanhurst.
Drop an email to Sue or Louise and we will send you some information outlining the role. Your contribution will make a difference. Please consider joining us.

City / Country Mothers’ Weekend Away: “MAGNIFICENT MUDGEE” – same time next year?
Mudgee did not disappoint. Gorgeous blue skies, scrumptious food, delicious wine and fabulous company. Our only disappointment ……that it is now over.
The general consensus was that this was way too much fun so we DEFINITELY are going away again in 2017.
We have a date, so make a note in your diary now! Friday 24 – Sunday 26 November will be the City/Country Mothers Weekend Away for 2017. We might just return to Mudgee as we loved it so much…we will survey all our mums who attended this year and see what they think. If you have any thoughts / ideas please drop us a note. If you were unable to make it this year, note that date in your diaries now and we will see you there in 2017.
