Our thoughts are with the students in Year 12 completing their trial examinations and we are very proud of our Year 9 students in Far North Queensland. This week we are sharing more information about the Mission Dinner and a special update from Bellata thanks to Mrs Angie Smith, Current Parent and Chair of our Boarder Parent Committee.
There are so many special events coming up this term, we are really looking forward to spending time with our fellow Loreto parents.
We are very grateful for the feedback we have received from new parents, informing us that they would like to know more about the Mission Dinner. Here is a brief overview;
Supporting ‘Loreto with a Heart’ via the Mission Dinner
Date: Friday 19 August, 2016 – Reception Room, 7pm
Why do we have an annual Mission Dinner at Loreto Normanhurst?
To support the extraordinary education provided for young girls in Entally, India, by the Loreto Sisters.
The Parent Association of Loreto (PAL) Committee supports the Mission each year and all proceeds from this dinner are forwarded directly to Loreto Convent, Entally. Loreto Normanhurst has a strong tradition of supporting this wonderful school. The School website mentions that Loreto Convent Entally is often referred to as ‘Loreto with a Heart’. It would be wonderful if our community could demonstrate how big our heart is and support this wonderful Mission.
What happens at the Mission Dinner?
Each year a special guest speaker is asked to present and this year our guest is Ms Kerry McCullough, Dean of Mission, Loreto Normanhurst.
A lovely meal is served in the Loreto Normanhurst Reception Room and raffle tickets are sold by PAL representatives.
How much does the Mission Dinner cost?

A Special Country Long Lunch in Bellata
Last weekend the beautiful North West welcomed Mrs Kate Kovacs, Director of Boarding and Mrs Alicia Maunsell, Director of Development. After recent wonderful falls of much needed rain, the wheat, chickpea and faba bean crops looked magnificent. The lush green paddocks of cows and calves grazing looked resplendent in perfect winter weather.
It was wonderful to see the Loreto community gather together at Bellata (near Moree) and welcome Kate and Alicia for a long leisurely lunch. It was lovely to see current parents, ex-parents and ex-students enjoy beautiful winter sunshine and each other’s company.
The boarding school is very appreciative of the involvement and friendship the school staff offer to the country boarding families. Thank you to Kate and Alicia for making the journey to our part of the world!

City/Country Mothers Weekend Away 2016: Invitation on its way!

Loreto Normanhurst High Tea

The Ex-students’ Association would like to extend an invitation to the Loreto Normanhurst community to attend High Tea on Sunday 11 September, which will be held in the Reception Room and Gardens from 2pm.
