DUBBO BOARDING EXPO: (Contribution by Emma Gibson – Current parent and ex-student 1982)

It was a lovely night at the Dubbo Expo Drinks at the Commercial Hotel which has been the location now for a few years.  It is always great to host Principal, Ms Barbara Watkins and Director of Development, Mrs Alicia Maunsell in our city. We had a mix of current parents and also a lovely group of friends who left Loreto Normanhurst about five years ago. It was great to welcome them to our event. We also welcomed some prospective families who are hoping to send their daughters to Loreto Normanhurst in coming years.

Thank you to all the people who travelled a long way to attend. Sally Davis travelled in from north of Bourke!! We look forward to catching up again next year.

On behalf of the Parent Association of Loreto (PAL) Executive we wanted to thank the Loreto Normanhurst Community for the very generous support, enthusiastic engagement and strong sense of community that was so evident throughout the evening at our L&N Trivia Event on Saturday night.  It was a great success with over 290 guests present and many parents and friends joining in the fun and bidding on our Silent Auction items throughout the evening from home or elsewhere. We have raised in excess of $16,000 and look forward to updating you later in the year about how these funds will continue our contribution to the development of facilities & resources at the school.

Events such as this take a considerable amount of time and effort to bring to fruition and our L&N Trivia Night was no exception. Louise & I are so very lucky to have such a strong PAL Executive who were all involved and worked so tirelessly as a team to deliver this event. Special thanks to Mal Foubister and Kyle Nacard who took the lead on this function and ensured the event ran so smoothly in the lead up to and on the night.  Our thanks also to our volunteer set up crew; Cathy Duncan, Julie Martin, Emma Cabuil, Todd & Ruvay Browning. We would also like to say a big thank you to Tom Quirk and the amazing Maintenance team. No request is ever too much trouble and we really appreciate everything this team does for us. Finally, to the many parents who helped in so many ways with donations, prizes and time which is so very precious, we sincerely thank you.
