Thank you to the parents who joined us for the PAL Meeting last week. If you were unable to attend and would like to read the minutes from the meeting, please click here.
Last Wednesday, Loreto Normanhurst hosted the annual Loreto Normanhurst Kirribilli Morning Tea.
Kirsty Robertson (’95) CEO of Caritas Australia, was the guest speaker and incorporated so much into her speech – stories about her life, her successes and her challenges, all with good humour. Kirsty highlighted the qualities of service, compassion, and joy which she learnt from her Loreto education and which is at the heart of her work at Caritas.
We received a wonderful response to the inaugural Loreto Normanhurst Sportsmen’s Lunch, which sold out within a day. The event is starting out small, with a view to building it into a Loreto Normanhurst tradition over the coming years. If you missed out on tickets, please join the waiting list and you will be contacted should further tickets become available. Thank you to the organising committee – Preston Foster, Paul Timmins and Charlie Pidcock – for the hard work and organisation they have put into this event.
Both Years 5 and 6 have held parent events over recent weeks. Year 5 had 60 parents attend their drinks night at the Greengate Hotel and Year 6 had casual drinks and dinner at the Hotel Pennant Hills. Thank you to the Year 5 and Year 6 Parent Reps who organised these events and to those parents who supported these events by coming along. We were thankful that these events were able to proceed almost as normal. These events at the year level are not only a wonderful opportunity to meet other parents in your daughter’s year group but are also important in building parent friendship and community at Loreto.
There will be a convoy down the Hume Highway today as more than 160 mothers are heading to Wagga Wagga for the City/Country Mothers’ Weekend. It will be a wonderful weekend and a big thank you to the coordinators – Nicole Sykes, Bec Kingston, Sally Dean and Emma Boulding – for all their hard work in organising the weekend.
Alumnae and Current Parent Morning Tea
The Community Engagement team was delighted to welcome mothers who are also Loreto alumnae to join their daughters for a lovely event this morning. Commencing with our Friday Eucharist, the morning was a lovely celebration of friendship and the threads that tie our community together across generations!
