Winter is the air and the mornings are definitely cooler! However, there’s plenty to look forward to over the winter months.
Last Sunday many mums and daughters shared a special time in our beautiful chapel at the Mother Daughter Eucharist and it was great to see everyone gathered for this very lovely event. This coming Sunday is Mother’s Day and we hope all our mums enjoy some special moments with their families. For some, it may be a time to reflect on the memories of their mothers. We also acknowledge the fathers who parent alone and the many women who contribute to parenting in positive ways through the community. It is quite true of the proverb that, “It takes a village to raise a child.”
An update for the Dads – instead of a weekend away, we are having a ‘City/Country Fathers’ Dinner’ on Saturday 25 May at The Ranch, North Ryde. See details below to secure your place.
Our major event for this term is the annual Trivia Night on Saturday 22 June. The theme this year is ‘Go Green’ – so start getting creative! You can make tables of 10 or book just for yourself and we’ll coordinate a table for you with your year group. Its always a fun night with great prizes to be won. We are also looking for prizes for the night, so if you have anything you can donate, or to join the organising team please drop an email to PAL with the subject ‘Trivia Night’.
Spring Fair planning is now under way. Come and be part of the biggest event of the year ! Do you have a business, or product you would like to include in this year’s Spring Fair? Perhaps you have a skill or talent to contribute? Or maybe you just want to meet other parents and get involved in our community? PAL would love to hear from you! Spring Fair on November 3 is a highlight of the Loreto calendar and is easily the most popular way for parents to get to know each other whilst having a ton of fun and making a lasting contribution to our wonderful school. To join the organising team please drop an email to PAL with the subject ‘Spring Fair’.
The Mother Daughter dinner on 1 June is sold out and unfortunately we are unable to add any extra tables due to the venue capacity. If you would like to go on the waitlist, please see details below.
Finally, a reminder that the next PAL meeting will be next Wednesday 15 May at 7.30pm in the Curran Theatre. All welcome!
We will continue to enjoy more gatherings together with friendship building, fundraising and being a Loreto parent!
