Parent Association

Parent Association

It’s looking like the sun will shine for our school Open Day tomorrow – thank you to everyone who has baked a cake or signed up to sizzle a sausage or steak in support of the Parent Association.

This year, to embrace the environmental values that our school upholds, and to put some  dollars into the students Green Team fund, we will be collecting all empty bottles and cans that we sell on Open Day. Please make sure you assist us with this and deposit your empty cans and  bottles in the bins provided (please do not crush them).

Thank you  to everyone who has offered to become a Year Parent Coordinator. We have had a great response and Louise, Jane and I are just firming up a date in March to host an evening when we’ll tell you what is involved (mostly having fun and meeting people is what’s involved!). Next week we will send information regarding the Dads’ Weekend Away,  so a shout out to the dads to get your thinking caps on as we’ll be asking for suggestions on where to go and what to do. If any country dads have suggestions for us to visit their home towns then please let us know.

Our very good friends on the Ex-Students’  Association have arranged a Loreto theatre party trip on Thursday 8 August to see ‘Muriel’s Wedding’ and have just opened up registration for anyone interested in seeing the show – see details below.

Finally, it is Entertainment Book ordering time again and Loreto PAL receives $16 for every digital book and paper book ordered. The good news is that you can have up to three devices sharing the digital book – one for you then decisions to be made on who else gets access!   Click here to order your book and get an ‘Early Bird Offer’.

We are looking forward to saying “Hi” at these events and to continue friendship building, fundraising and – being a Loreto parent!

Friday 22 – Sunday 24 March

For some, another daughter is entering her last year of school, for others, it’s our first time experiencing the beginning of all ‘the lasts’ with the Year 12 cohort of 2019.

To mark this occasion we have booked a weekend away to share our stories and laugh and reminisce about the very special years we have shared together at Loreto Normanhurst with the Year 12 graduating Class of 2019.

Date: 22-24 March 2019
Venue: Mudgee

Use the link below to register for the Year 12 City/Country Mothers’ Weekend Away and pay a $50.00 deposit that will be reimbursed before departure. Once we have  firm numbers we can finalise bookings with the venues.

Come along, catch up with old friends make a few new ones.  Enjoy some time out, rest and relax at one of the lovely accommodation venues available in Mudgee. Attend all or only one of the events we will plan, it is totally up to you as it’s your time to share with others or enjoy a little quiet time for you.
