Parent Association

At the moment there doesn’t seem to be a week that goes by without at least one event or get together going on and we are truly grateful to all parents who manage to make time to attend these events in your already busy schedules.
Firstly, we would like to acknowledge what a truly beautiful Eucharist and Commissioning ceremony for Ms Ugonotti that we, and all your daughters, had the pleasure of attending last week. Every part of it was truly memorable from the acknowledgement of country sung in traditional language to how everyone of the girls presented themselves with true grace and sincerity.
There was an email sent out this week regarding our Open Day on Saturday 9 March with requests for Cake Working Bee helpers and also to get your chef hats on to cook up a treat or two for the cake stall. Please also join us on the BBQ and Devonshire tea – we will be setting up an online volunteer sign-on page so please keep an eye out for this.
Our Year 7 parents and students will all have the chance to put on their ‘bootscooting’ boots and join in the fun on Saturday 30 March. Every year this event is attended by most Year 7 families and a link to buy your tickets will be sent out shortly, so please make sure you get in quick to reserve your table.
Also, bookings will open soon for the City/Country Mothers’ Lunch on Friday 12 April so keep an eye open as the seats do go very quickly.
PAL will once again be offering Entertainment Books to members of the Loreto Normanhurst community. Entertainment Books are now available in a digital format, allowing you to carry everything that the Entertainment Book offers with your smart phone. For more information about the benefits of a digital membership, please click HERE or if you would like to purchase an Entertainment Book, click HERE.
Lastly, we will be forming our Spring Fair Committee soon and ask now for anyone or any group of parents who would like to join us on the main organising team. We usually have 10-12 parents who are happy to work with a team to organise one of the areas, for example the school stalls, or the kids corner, so if that’s you, then please let us know via pal@loretonh.nsw.edu.au
As always, please let us know if you would like to join the wider team as our Year Parent Coordinators. Usually there are two to four for each year and we run an information session to provide details to those who are interested or who volunteer straight away. If you are interested in becoming a coordinator this year then please send us an email.
Looking forward to saying ‘Hi’ at these events and continue friendship building, fundraising and enjoying being a Loreto parent.
Kind regards
Paul White & Louise Wytenburg

Friday 22 – Sunday 24 March
For some, another daughter is entering her last year of school, for others, it’s our first time experiencing the beginning of all ‘the lasts’ with the Year 12 cohort of 2019.
To mark this occasion we have booked a weekend away to share our stories and laugh and reminisce about the very special years we have shared together at Loreto Normanhurst with the Year 12 graduating Class of 2019.
Date: 22-24 March 2019
Venue: Mudgee
Use the link below to register for the Year 12 City/Country Mothers’ Weekend Away and pay a $50.00 deposit that will be reimbursed before departure. Once we have firm numbers we can finalise bookings with the venues.
Come along, catch up with old friends make a few new ones. Enjoy some time out, rest and relax at one of the lovely accommodation venues available in Mudgee. Attend all or only one of the events we will plan, it is totally up to you as it’s your time to share with others or enjoy a little quiet time for you.

We look forward to hearing from many of you. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to Louise or myself.
