Congratulations to Erin Longney, Year 11, who this week participated in the Plain English Speaking Zone Finals. Erin was a wonderful representative of the school and gave a stirring speech on the complexities of time and how our story’s and perception of events over time changes. Congratulations Erin.
Congratulations to Rosemary O’Brien, Year 7, who was awarded a medal and high distinction from the Australian Speech and Communication Association as a result of her efforts in an exam last November. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, Rosemary only just received her award this week. Well done Rosemary!
Loreto Normanhurst were scheduled to be against Knox Grammar for the first virtual round of Mock Trial. Unfortunately, Knox was unable to compete and forfeited Round 1. Well done to the students and staff who prepared so diligently at the end of Term 2 and over the holidays. The scripts for Round 2 will be released next week. We wish the team the best of luck as they prepare for Round 2.
Congratulations to all Archdale Debaters for participating in Round 1 of the Virtual Archdale Competition. It was so great to see the excitement of our debaters as they engaged in topics based on education. Congratulations to the following teams for winning their respective debate:
Next weeks topics are based on Politics in Australia. Round 2 will also be held virtually and pick up times for students will be similar from last week.
CSDA Round 1 commences tonight against OLMC and will also be conducted virtually. We wish the best of luck to all students and staff involved. Information regarding Round 2 will be published to students early next week.
