Interhouse Debating

On the 20th, 22nd and 24th of May, the Academic Activities leaders and I hosted the annual event of Interhouse Debating. This is a much-anticipated event in the extra-curricular calendar and a joy to organise and run. The competition is open to all ages and gives girls an opportunity to both participate in and watch debates to familiarise themselves with oratory as an activity.

We heard debates across the Houses, with teams split into junior (Years 7-9) and senior (Years 10-12). There was some highly sophisticated and insightful junior debates, alongside some hilarious and entertaining senior ones.

It was tough competition, with Mulhall coming out on top for seniors and Kuring-gai for juniors. For more detail about winners, see the table below.

I would like to thank all the girls who nominated to make this event possible. It was so much fun and I hope it encouraged you to pursue Oratory further during your time here at Loreto.

A special thanks to Swetha Kumar and Christina Saad along with all the Academic Activities leaders for their efforts in organising this event.
