HSC examinations commenced this week with the common English paper, completed by all HSC Advanced and Standard English students in NSW. This paper examines students’ comprehension, creative writing and analytical skills, making it challenging in terms of the variety of skills it draws upon. Over the next three weeks there will be a range of papers every day.
Our students were very composed and focused as they moved into their paper on Thursday morning. The nervous energy on the first day was palpable, however students demonstrated that they were prepared and more than ready to begin the examination process.
Congratulations to all HSC parents – keeping the home front calm and orderly whilst trying to normalise the examination process is a challenging task during this time, but one that our Loreto families are clearly mastering.
Please follow this link to hear a good luck message from the CEO of NESA, Mr David de Carvalho, to all of our HSC students .
Best wishes to all students as they continue their exams.

Year 12 2019 Parent Information Evening – PODCAST
Thank you to all parents and students who attended the Year 12 2019 Parent Information Evening on Monday. We appreciate that all families are very busy and are grateful that so many families were present to hear about the HSC year ahead from our staff. Particular thanks to our boarder families who attended the evening, we know that this is often difficult to juggle with travel, accommodation and work commitments and really appreciate that you were able to attend.
For families who were unable to attend, or for any reinforcement needed of the information shared on Monday evening, please click here for the podcast and enter password: Year122019.
Please note that the evening presented an overview to parents and students of what the HSC year entails. Ms Watkins, Mme Martin, Mrs Long and myself spoke on the evening, covering a range of topics from managing study, setting boundaries, dealing with stress and thinking beyond the HSC year. These topics will be explored in more depth at the Parent Information session at the commencement of 2019 on Wednesday, 30 January 2019 at 7-8pm.
