History Study Tour

The Loreto Normanhurst History Department is pleased to announce a tour to France, Belgium and Italy in the June-July holidays 2020.

The tour will take place over 15 days visiting a range of sites including the Somme Valley, the Flanders region, Pompeii and Herculaneum, the Roman Forum, the Colosseum, and the Vatican City, to name a few.

The tour will be available to students who will be in Years 10-12 in 2020 and the tour program is designed to link with the learning outcomes for the current senior syllabuses for Ancient History and Modern History as well as connect with the Catholic ethos of Loreto  Normanhurst through visits to Amiens Cathedral, St Omer and St Peter’s Basilica.

We are intending to organise this tour through Academy Travel, an Australian-based travel company specialising in school group tours. We will work closely with Academy Travel to develop and manage a program specifically designed for our students.

Students and parents are encouraged to attend the information night if they are interested in participating. Further details about the tour will be revealed on the night as well an outline of the student application process for tour admission.

Date: monday 25 March 2019

Time: 6.30-8.30

Venue: Curran Theatre

This immersion is a wonderful opportunity for our historians to extend their knowledge of the world and visit the sites they learn so much about in class.

We look forward to seeing you all at the information night!
