Healthy Minds Program
This week the students learned about their emotions and the importance of experiencing the full range of emotions – from happy, excited and joyful to disappointed, angry and sad. The students learned that avoidance prevents us from learning how to solve problems, tolerate distress, develop coping strategies, and build resilience.
Through this program the students are encouraged to build their “psychological muscle” and to develop helpful “thinking skills”.
Dr Tom Nehmy, the creator of the Healthy Minds Program will present to Year 8 parents on Friday March 4 at 7.00pm.
