Congratulations to the following girls who have qualified for the Future Problem Solving Nationals. The Nationals will be held virtually early next term and the girls will compete against the top teams in Australia for a place at Internationals. Well done to:

  • Scenario Writing Finalist Senior Division – Gian Ellis-Gannell for her futuristic story on De-Extinction.
  • Global Issues Teams
    • Senior Division Year 11 – Sophie Earle, Zoe Redwin, Zara Oong, Vivien Li, Ella Donlevy, Emily Stockwell, Georgia Cluff, Charlotte Cluff
    • Middle Division Year 9 – Lucy Johnston, Sophie Mota, Eloise Rose-Helbert, Bella Kachel
    • Year 8 – Natalia Barone, Yvette Alford, Olivia Lee-Jackson, Alexis Taylor

The Global Issues teams qualified with the topic of ‘Gamification’ and will now prepare for the Nationals topic of ‘Living in Poverty’.

The FPS International Team who competed earlier in the year and placed 10th in the world (1st in Australia) for their Global Issues booklet on ‘Terraforming’ and 4th in the world (2nd in Australia) for their Action Plan Presentation finally received their awards from America and you can see these in the photos. Congratulations again to Year 11 students, Georgia Cluff, Charlotte Cluff, Emily Stockwell and Ella Donlevy.

All of the girls and coaches involved in FPS have been amazing this year – they have been flexible, resilient and shown real perseverance. Thank you also to Ms Nairn’s wonderful support as Acting Dean of Extra-Curricular.

In Term 4, I will be running an FPS Introductory Course for all students who are interested in finding out about FPS, particularly our Year 7 students. Look out for an announcement in Sentral next week.

Thank you all and congratulations!
