Drama and Visual Arts Learning Immersion New York Tour 2019
In the July 2019 term break a group of Drama and Visual Arts students will have the opportunity to travel to New York for a Learning Immersion. Students in Years 9-12 in 2019 can apply. The Drama and Visual Arts groups will travel together to immerse in specialised workshops, theatres, galleries, museums, and cultural spaces all within the iconic New York City.
Tour dates: 4 July 2019 – 17 July 2019
Drama students will attend the Stella Adler School for a one-week intensive program while Visual Arts students will complete an artmaking workshop at the Parsons New School of Design for three days, visit several facilitated museum experiences, and enjoy a walking tour of the Chelsea Gallery district.
The tour will gather together every evening for dinner and a Broadway show.
Immersing in the cultural milieu of New York City offers a firsthand experience to students of what it looks like to authentically navigate the creative process. This is a dynamic opportunity for students to experience creative practices and engage their critical thinking skills. These experiences assist students by allowing the girls to reflect and develop their own creative practices.
An information evening will be held to provide details of this magnificent tour and allow the opportunity for students and parents to collect the tour pack, register their interest and collect the application form.
When: Monday 14 May
Time: 7:00pm – 8:00pm (after Academic Plenary Meetings)
Where: Curran Theatre
