Director of Development
Last week as we welcomed ex-students Kerry-Anne Walsh (’71), Katherine Sainty (’77) and Annie Crawford (’81) to speak at the 2016 “Women of Influence” evening, it was a wonderful reminder of the importance of the friendships we build within and beyond the Loreto Normanhurst community. Kerry-Anne, Katherine and Annie spoke of their time at school, the successes and challenges as they forged their careers and the values that have guided them. Listening to their stories was joyful and inspirational. And in the audience were friends from their school days – there to share the excitement of their memories and to applaud their successful journeys.
Our work in Development celebrates such relationships – relationships with the school and our relationships with others. We are connected by our shared values, by our love of the Loreto history and traditions and so importantly the role we play in the Loreto Normanhurst story of today. The Development Team is committed to building opportunities for parents, staff, past parents and alumni to engage with the life of the school. As a life-long community, we foster a rich network of friends and supporters who are deeply valued for all that they bring in so many varied ways to Loreto Normanhurst.
Each year as we approach the end of the financial year we encourage your support of the Annual Giving Campaign. Annual Giving reaches out to all in our community to assist us raise funds for bursaries. This is your opportunity to give back – simply one gift, no matter the size plays a vital role in maintaining our tradition of providing financial support for girls whose families are in necessitous circumstances so they too may benefit from a Loreto education. Please consider supporting Annual Giving when you receive the request next week.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you a restful holiday period and I look forward to an exciting Term Three when we will have the occasion to celebrate our community at events including the Father Daughter Eucharist, the Father Daughter Dinner, the Year 12 Mothers’ Eucharist and Lunch, the Mission Dinner to name a few – the dates are in the calendar and invitations will be coming to your inbox in the next few weeks.
With warm regards,
Mrs. Alicia Maunsell
