 STUDYING MEDICINE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NEWCASTLE

The Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine (MD – JMP) is an innovative five year degree that will prepare you for an exciting and rewarding medical career. Delivered in partnership with the University of New England, Hunter New England Local Health District and Central Coast Local Health District our students’ graduate ready to play a key role in shaping and improving future health care for individuals and communities.

The University of Newcastle Central Coast Clinical School is partnered with the Central Coast Local Health District and the Central Coast Research Institute, and are both co-located on the site of the redeveloping Gosford Hospital. Central Coast final year medical students are participating in the exciting new Assistants in Medicine Program as part of the NSW health response to the COVID-19 pandemic and are very proud of the opportunity to help our community.

February 2021 will see the inaugural year of 1st year medical students begin their training at the Central Coast site, with our new state of the art building scheduled to open mid-year.

There will be a presentation via webinar by A/Prof Amanda Dawson, Clinical Dean of the Central Coast Clinical School, as well as the chance to hear from current and past medical students and junior doctors.  There will be an opportunity for questions at the end.

The Uni  hopes to answer all your questions about medicine as a career and the opportunities training on the Central Coast will offer!
