Get a head-start on the road to your future career and pick up skills along the way
TVET courses can be studied in Year 11 and allow students the opportunity while still at school, to build the foundation skills required for work and further study whilst discovering talents and skills.
Rachael is studying Entertainment at Bradfield Senior College. This is an HSC course that allows Rachael to study something she is interested in.
This year I have chosen to do a TAFE course called Entertainment. The course involves working behind the scenes implementing the audio and lighting aspects of productions.
TAFE gives me the chance to meet many new people with the same interests as me whilst learning in a very independent, practical and hands on way. It gives me the chance to experience one possible career choice I have been considering and also allows me to share my new skills and knowledge with others at Loreto especially within the AV team.
This course has been such an enjoyable part of my Year 11 experience.
– Rachael Marchant, Year 11
