Year 12 reminders & deadlines
University Admissions Scheme (UAC)
- Students should now have the UAC Guide and have opened their account with their UAC PIN.
- There is an early bird processing charge of $58 which needs to be paid before 29 September 2017 otherwise the cost increases to $183.00.
- At the front of the UAC Guide are thekKey dates and the steps to study through UAC.
- There are a number of institutions that manage their own admissions and students apply directly to them. For example, the University of Notre Dame. Details on how to apply can be found in Part 3 of the UAC guide and on each institutions website.
- If you have any problems with navigating UAC or would like some guidance please come to the Careers office, alternatively UAC have a student assistance line which you can call 8.30am-4.30pm Monday – Friday on 1300 275 822.
Educational Access Scheme (EAS)
If you are applying for EAS please return your completed and signed application to the Careers Office by Friday 8 September 2017.

Schools Recommendation Schemes (SRS)
SRS is one way institutions make early offers of undergraduate admission using criteria other than (or in addition to) the ATAR.
This scheme is open now and closes at Midnight on Friday 29 September 2017. After that time you can no longer apply for SRS.

Speak to a Careers Advisor
Year 12 are encouraged to book a time with a Careers Advisor in their final weeks at Loreto Normanhurst. The office is open every day and all students are welcome and encouraged to drop in with their diaries or send an email to book a time. Appointments can be made before school, during lunch or after school. Senior students can book during a study period. Please email the careers office.

Events
University of Sydney – Fixed ATAR System
The fixed ATAR is the minimum ATAR needed to guarantee entry into a chosen course.
If a student achieves this required ATAR and places Sydney as their first preference they will be made an offer through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC).
The required ATAR thresholds will not change throughout the preference and admissions period for 2018 entry, which includes the December, January and February UAC rounds
University of Sydney Dalyell Scholars Program
Exclusive to high achieving students with an ATAR (or equivalent) of 98+, the Dalyell Scholars program is an opportunity to challenge yourself alongside your most promising and talented peers.
UOW College Info Evening Wollongong

SAE Creative Media Institute offers scholarships to outstanding creative media applicants. SAE Scholarships are awarded to recognise creative talent coupled with academic excellence and outstanding leadership.
C.A.S. Hawker Scholarship
The C.A.S. Hawker Scholarship is awarded to Australian students, usually those entering their first year of university. It is awarded based on personal qualities, demonstrated leadership and academic ability.
The 2018 C.A.S. Hawker Scholarship opens on Monday 4 December 2017 and will close on Friday 5 January 2018.
