Careers Expo
7:00PM – 8:30PM next TUESDAY 14 MARCH 2017
This event is for all students (with their parents) who are wondering what they might like to do, study and be when they finish school.
Who should attend?
- Any student who wants to start to find out about possible career options and pathways.
- Any student who thinks they know what they want to do – come and talk to real people from the real world of work to help with decision making.
- Any student wishing to explore post school study options including TAFE, private providers and university.
- Any student who is considering a Gap year and would like to learn more about their options, costs and benefits.
The Career Showcase includes:
Graphic Design, Psychology, Engineering, Medicine, Nursing, Environmental Science, Architecture, Podiatry, Defence, Law, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Vet Science, Early Childhood, Asset Management, Social Work, Dietitian, Sonography, Communications, Journalism, Law, Policing including Federal Police, Primary teaching, Occupational Therapy, Animation, Property and Real estate and Surveying.
WOULD YOU LIKE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH A CAREERS ADVISOR?
We welcome all students from all year groups.
Anyone can make an appointment with a careers advisor. We are usually in the office – located in the LRC – before and after school and at recess and lunch. Students are most welcome to drop in but at times we can be busy, so the best thing to do is to send an email indicating your availability or drop in with your diary to schedule a time.

Defence Force Gap Year |

The ADF Gap Year program provides an opportunity for young Australians who have finished year 12 or equivalent, aged between 17 and 24, to experience military training & lifestyle whilst gaining new skills over a paid Gap Year. ANU: Tuckwell Scholarship |

Chemical engineering work experience |

Spend your Year 10 Work Experience week exploring life as a chemical engineer. We team up students with a PhD candidate or an expert academic to work on a real-world chemical engineering project. If you’re interested pop into the careers office to discuss. |

Cambridge Immerse, UK |
Cambridge Immerse offers academic programs in the university environment, taught by Cambridge and Oxford tutors. Students aged 16–18 can attend. Registrations are open until 30th June, but places are offered on a first come first served basis, so get in early! |

A Life Without Limits: Surveying Work Experience |

Applications for the Engineering & Technology Cadetships (ETCAD) Program open on 26 April and close on the 16th June. |
Applications for the Business Cadetships Program run by Professional Cadetships Australia close on 10 May. Year 12 students apply online at for cadetship placement at UBS. Students who intend to apply are reminded that both their Application Form and School Assessment are due on 10 May, so it is advisable to speak to your Careers Adviser well in advance about your School Assessment. |
